We are a very welcoming and inclusive orchestra, made up of players of all ages from students to senior citizens. Some of our members, including our leader Amanda Clare, are professional musicians, while most are keen amateur instrumentalists with some experience of orchestral playing.
Whether you’re wanting to return to playing your instrument or a seasoned player, the Hayes Symphony Orchestra welcomes new members with open arms. With current vacancies in the violins, violas, french horns and percussion, now is the perfect time to join this warm and inclusive ensemble and experience the joy of music-making as part of a thriving community.
We meet for social events at least once a term, usually for a meal in a local restaurant.
Your first term will be subscription free and subs are then £45 per term.
Vacancies
We currently have vacancies in the string, french horn and percussion sections. Please contact our secretary Julia Challender, if you’d like to give us a try and continue on your musical journey.
There is no formal audition, however you really should have huge amounts of enthusiasm, be keen to have fun and try new or challenging repertoire. Some sight reading skills are a bonus!
